Valentino Dixon
Exoneree, Artist, and Criminal Justice Reform Advocate
Valentino Dixon is an exoneree, artist, and criminal justice reform advocate. On September 19, 2018, he walked out of prison an innocent man, having just served 27 years after being wrongfully convicted of murder. Throughout that time, Valentino maintained his innocence and relied on his passion for art to sustain him. Although he had never played golf himself, Valentino found that drawing images of golf courses made him feel at peace and free. His work was eventually discovered and promoted by Golf Digest and the Golf Channel, which brought some attention to his case and plight. But Valentino remained in prison until three Georgetown undergraduate students re-investigated his case and found new evidence that helped his legal team secure his exoneration and release. Valentino's remarkable story of resilience, faith, sports, and artistic talent has inspired millions of people around the world, and he recently launched a new foundation, called The Art of Freedom Foundation.
